Arrival in Friuli Venezia Giulia - TARCENTO, the road of Castles to Attimis
Arrival in TARCENTO, which for its spectacular geographical position has earned the nickname of “Pearl of Friuli”, to which more recently the “City of water, city of fire” has been added, to remember the two vital souls of the town: one natural, linked to the river “Torre”, and the other, traditional, linked to the Epiphanic fire and the “Festival dei cuori”, two important events for the town, which respectively raise it to the capital of the Friulian Epiphany and international folklore.
In the afternoon, entrance to the Medieval Archaeological Museum of ATTIMIS, the first regional museum dedicated to the daily life of the castles of the feudal period (X-XV century) in the eastern foothills of Friuli which documents the period between the end of the early Middle Ages and the occupation Venetian, through archaeological finds, models and reconstructions of environments and at the Castle of Partistagno a defensive building and noble residence of the feudal era built around the year 1000 and which was in principle property of the Counts of Attems.

The valleys of TORRE and CORNAPPO, from the majestic mountain profiles to the soft hills of the best Friulian wines
Departure through the Torre and Cornappo Valleys. Near Faedis, visit the Twin Waterfalls, one of the most fascinating natural attractions in the area. Located in a verdant valley characterized by lush nature.
Stop for lunch at a traditional trattoria.
In the afternoon, guided visit to a winery with a walk through the vineyards where the prized FRIULIAN WINES are produced, including Sauvignon, Refosco, and Ramandolo, a small DOCG in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Here, the grapes are all Verduzzo Friulano, grown in an amphitheater of vineyards climbing the hillside slopes between the municipalities of Nimis and Tarcento. This grape variety can only bear the name Ramandolo in these two municipalities, named after one of the hamlets in Nimis. Tasting of Friulian wines including Refosco and the sweet Ramandolo.

The VALLEYS of NATISONE, an open door to Eastern Europe
Departure for the NATISONE VALLEYS. In San Pietro al Natisone / Špietar visit the SMO – Krajinski in pripovedni muzej / Museum of landscapes and narratives, entirely dedicated to the cultural landscape that runs from the Alps to the sea.
Not a collection museum but a storytelling museum where the story of the aspects characterizing the culture of the territory unfolds. The museum is aimed at all those who want to know the history and current events of the area where the Slovenian linguistic minority has historically settled in the former provinces of Udine, Gorizia and Trieste.
In San Pietro al Natisone there is the possibility of tasting gubana and strucchi, traditional local desserts, from local producers. Tasting of gubana at the Dorbolò laboratory or also Gubana della Nonna which is part of the Slow Food Travel community of Natisone and Torre and also organizes courses on gubana.
visit to the Purgessimo tunnel, built after World War II, is a Cold War bunker the size of an entire country and is one of the few examples of artifact in a cave in the hands of the Italian Army Arrest Infantry.

CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI - First Longabard Duchy - Goodbye in Friuli Venezia Giulia
In the morning individual visit of CIVIDALE del FRIULI one of the most beautiful towns in Friuli, located at the foot of the “Colli Orientali del Friuli”, close to the Julian Prealps. Founded by Julius Caesar with the name of Forum Iulii, from which the name of Fiuli originated, in 568 AD. it became the capital of the first Italian Longabard duchy. You walk through the historic center that rises on the right bank of the Natisone and retains its medieval appearance, with a stop and entrance at the “Tempietto Longobardo“, one of the most important monuments of the eighth century with excellently preserved frescoes and bas-reliefs.
