Arrival in the early afternoon in Trieste and visit to the MIRAMARE CASTLE, built at the request of Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg in 1856. The castle is located on a promontory overlooking the Gulf of Trieste and is surrounded by a magnificent botanical park.

Free time for a stroll in the city center.

In the afternoon, departure for Slovenia and visit to the Postojna Caves. Arrival and tour aboard the train through this fascinating network of tunnels and underground chambers, with explanations in Italian.

Departure for Aquileia, meeting with the guide and visit to this ancient Roman city, founded in 181 BC and the capital of the Augustan region. Visit to the 4th-century Patriarchal Basilica with its precious floor mosaics and the frescoed crypt.

Lunch at a restaurant, and in the afternoon, continue to the Collio, a region renowned for its fine wine production. Arrival in Capriva del Friuli and a short walk through the “Sentiero delle Vigne Alte,” a beautiful path accessible on foot, winding through a harmonious landscape with slopes covered in vineyards and shaded patches of woodland, offering views of the surrounding area, the heart of the “Grand Cru” vineyards in the Collio region. During the walk, visit to Villa Russiz Estate, which spans 45 hectares of DOC Collio vineyards, nestled between gentle hills and steep terraces. The vineyards are planted in privileged positions, as identified by the founder Theodor de La Tour.

Arrival in Cormons and wine tasting of 4 local wines, accompanied by a mixed platter of local cheeses and cold cuts.
